Someone is confused. Fish = meat. Vegetarians don’t eat meat. Therefore, vegetarians don’t eat fish.

As has been said, your friend is not a vegetarian. How can s/he be if s/he eats meat? However, I think it’s great that you are considerate of what your friend does and doesn’t eat and want to accommodate it.
I CAN eat fish and poultry, if I wanted to and if I found it appetizing. However, I wouldn’t be vegan then.
